Do uppercase or lowercase matter in keywords? Is "get good deals" = "GET GOOD DEALS" = "Get Good Deals"?

gET gOOD dEALs is no different that GeT gOoD dEaLs in the eyes of search engines.

What matters is the keyword phrases involved and that is what they rank you for.

Okay... time for me to argue with myself.

One of the things that search engines look for is how relevant your content is for your audience. If you found an article of 300 to 500 words which were all written like the following...

    GeT gOoD dEaLs

My bet is that you wouldn't stick around to read the article thus making the content less relevant to your audience and getting penalized by Google as a result.

Therefore, I conclude that as long as you don't go overboard the case of your words does not matter to the search engines.

    SEOChief is correct...

Uppercase or Lowercase does not matter to a SE.

However, research indicates that UPPERCASE is more difficult for a human visitor to read - especially for long sentences.

    So...

    GET GOOD DEALS FOR PRODUCTNAME

cannot be 'scanned' as easily as

    Get Good Deals for Productname

    Best Wishes,

If you are going to capitalize, do so on the first letter of the word. It 'looks' better. Otherwise, it doesn't matter to the S.E.'s.

    • I've never thought it mattered either - even searched for "How to tie a tie" and "how to tie a tie" with and without quotation marks - no difference in the # of search results between either set of queries. Am I missing something or is the author below blowing smoke to sell more Wordtracker subscriptions?

On Google, the phrase, "How to tie a tie," has a KEI value of only 20 (very
weak). It would have the potential of pulling in about 91 visitors per day if your
page is ranked in the top 10.
However, look at how many people are using the same phrase all in lowercase
      letters.
On Google, the phrase, "how to tie a tie," has a KEI value of 1499.77, and it has
the potential of pulling in approximately 771 visitors per day if you are ranked in
      the top 10!

    Yes they do.
Simply because in the end its human that you are writing for and we people don't like uppercase that much. Its not polite either.
