    The correct terminology is CPM advertising (Cost Per thousand impressions). It was the first popular Internet advertising model, used primarily with graphic banner ads. Then Google revolutionized the industry with their superior performing PPC model.

    CPM advertising has been available on the AdWords platform Display Network (a.k.a. Content Network) for many years. Google aquired Doubleclick, the major player in CPM ad delivery, last year. So Google is the go to company now for CPM advertising as well.
