That's what I see too. Might be the same value anyway. I think those numbers are "grain of salt" values anyway. I use them more to rank order the keywords rather than expecting any exact results from the numbers themselves.

I usually get about 10% of the CPC. That is usually a safe guesstimate on adsense earnings per click. I like keeping my expectations low so as not to be disappointed...

2 big variables are at play there. First, the Google tool is showing you estimated avg. CPC for their entire network... Google search results pages and the content network (Adsense publishers' sites). But, Adwords advertisers can choose, and many of them pay a lot less per click for ads showing on the content network. The other variable is which ad gets clicked on your site. You can't control that and there can be a huge difference between the CPC of one ad vs. another on your page.

Another variable that doesn't get a lot of discussion is that Adsense will ding you if your clicks don't convert for the advertiser. If you send them dead traffic, you end up making less per click after awhile. "Smart pricing."

It's coming and going. I was on the phone the other day with a coaching student and he was in a panic over this. While he was there I went there too, and CPC was an option for me. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the option was not there for me. Looks like it's coming and going. Hopefully it won't go away permanently. That would be a real shame all around.
