I noticed that two sites of mine are no longer ranking. Yesterday they were 2nd page of Google for many keywords, today they are page 12-100. Was I slapped/sandboxed?

It's the first time it happened to me. What are the odds that it will go back to normal in a few days? Is it just the "Google Dance"?

If it's good content on the sites it should go back up again, however if it's 'content farm' Google are now slapping down hard.

It's pretty good content. Original reviews, not spun or anything. Hopefully Google sees it that way.

did you build too many links too fast and then completely stop? That will get Google wonder why the sudden halt, thus placing you in the deeper pages for further consideration.

To get out of it, keep building links to let Google know that your site deserves that page 1 ranking.

Yes once there are relevant content and links and traffic grows google can notice.

    • I agree with what michael said above me. On top of that, don't be too scared, it seems a lot of people have been experiencing something like this in the past few days. Often times in such cases google is in the middle of performing an algo update and once it's over you'll come back. Definitely keep building links though.

How new are the sites? They could have been experiencing a new site bonus for a brief period of time before, and now you're back to your "normal" ranking.

I would say it's just the Google Dance since it didn't get completely dropped from Google. Just create more quality content pages. Then the Search Engine will notice your site growth and your rank should go up again.

Also just in case, check to see if there are any possible violations of the SE's quality guidelines.

    Log into Google Webmaster Tools.

    Good luck!!!
