        Okay now back to the SEO purpose of Pressreleases as that's what most people want to use it for on this forum, increasing their ranks.

        Many people think that when you submit a pressrelease you get 100's of links from poor sites. This is a huge misconception. 1st, most crappy sites only scrape the newsfeeds, and thus your link is not visible, they only do it for the content.

        Secondly, the other lower level, but still reasonable sites grab the pressrelease from PRweb or Yahoo News, just to name a few, these sites often grab only a part of the pressrelease and edit out the link. HOWEVER: They do link back to PR web and Yahoo News. So the result is that you create a natural pyramid of high quality links in tier1, and less sites in tier2. I've seen many pressreleases at PRweb where the page reached PR1 and DA57, these are pretty nice stats.

        Either way, your rankings won't get boosted within a few days after release, cause of the natural tiered linking it takes a little longer, but you should definetly see results within 14 days after distribution. For the above reasons, Pressreleases are a very good and save SEO method to get quality links in a non spammy way.

        And I consider the extra traffic as a bonus cause I use pressrelease from an SEO point of view. However when you really have something news worthy to mention it can go real viral and drive tons of traffic and attention!

        I've submitted about 14* $369 costing PRweb pressreleases in the last 14 days. I just checked the rankings for a local electrician in a relative large region. The innerpage was ranking somewhere at page 10 or 12 and it's now ranking at #6 for the 4 related keywords.

        What we did is:

        - Pad submission
        - 25 customized web2.0s
        - Social bookmarks to increase the index rate of the web2.0s
        - Doc sharing submission
        - PRweb pressrelease

        On a side note: If you only do it from SEO point of view then it's definetly NOT worth it to spend $369,- on a Premium release! Then why do I use them??? Cause we closed a yearly deal and thus we only pay a small fraction of the $369,-
