Is advertising on Facebook a good idea?

If anybody has experience with advertising on Facebook, I'd like very much to hear about it. How much do they charge, how to setup ads, targeting etc.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

        I do not think it is actually going to help. Now a days, everyone visits Facebook for advertising and it is getting filled up with nothing but fake profiles and ads. You can try out and see, if it shall help you in any way.

          I am agreed with you that there have so many fake ID.

          But they are very little regarding the real number of ID. Beside this how active the fake ID holder? No one never give much time for his/her fake ID than his/her real ID.

    It can help you in a way, but as marypulido said, there are many fake profile and ads there, but you can still use facebook in advertising.

    I have a fan page for my site (not too many takers so far) but I don't know about actually buying ads. I mean, they are pretty well targeted to the user, but they are also VERY easy to ignore. I've clicked a handful of them, but they've never resulted in a purchase on my part.

    The Best way to advertise using PPC is the Google Adwords ( Banners ) so it will not have random clicks and peoples will click only if they are interested ,

    TEXT Ads , is not recommended because peoples will open a lot of tabs at once,

    Well I think is not a bad idea if you have the money to spend on PPC ad and the unique thing about facebook is that all their ad campaign are targeted. So is worth giving it a try if you can afford it.

    I was scanning all the comments posted in this thread, and my god! You guys does not really provide answer to the guys question!

    Kullan, I have set up and run a number of facebook ad. But this thread is not the place to give your step by step instruction. Plus, I bet there are already other threads discussing this. Try using the forum's search function.

    If there is a short advice I can tell you, is that just try to setup an fb ads campaign yourself. it is not that hard. The link to the FB ads page is at the bottom of your Facebook page.
