alternative to Adsense?

I don't know the answer to your question, but if I had a site like that, I would monetize it differently. I believe you might make more money if you advertised political books, videos, T-shirts, mugs, etc. There are lots of companies that offer such products, and you could even make your own using a service such as CafePress.

I agree with this totally. Or you could do a combination of vendors from sites like Amazon, CJ, Share a Sale, etc.

I use adbrite on one web page. It gets approx 1/10 yeah tenth of ad sense. It is not very profitable, but it does send me money. Mostly, adbrite is for sites that do not qualify so ad sense such as jokes that are gross or a casino.

Have you considered not using ads at all?

Instead, for something like that, how about Cafepress or Zazzle merchandise that you create?

You can use Chitika to complement/alternative to Adsense...will pay less, but, it is an alternative.

True, you will NOT get rich with Adbrite. It isn't close to Adsense, like at all.

Around the time of the last campaign season, political merchandise was a huge hit. Might not be a bad idea to start toying with ideas for your blog for the next election....

What could work well on your Blog bearing in mind the subject matter is selling books from Amazon they must have loads of publication on offer that you could promote.

Regarding what else apart from adsense not really sure,clicksor could work for you as well.

Try some cpa networks, find offers in some very high payout niches like legal, insurance, education, real estate etc. You mentioned blogs are rich of opinions, so if you can setup an email list, that means a list of highly targeted audience or potential clients, u should have no problem to kick adsense's ass
