What tools do you guys use for your competition research? Currently I am using MS and would like some ideas on comparable tools. Something that shows all the info MS does including their backlinks and page rank and anchor txt. The keyword research portion isnt as important because I use other tools for that but I do like their seo competition module etc.

What are you guys using?

I use MS for all of that. It's the best tool out there in my opinion. You can do a page rank and anchor text analysis with MS. I don't see why you would need another tool if you have that.

Because MS hasn't been as reliable as of late. Any suggestions?

MS is paid keyword tool but it works like a free tool...... it also runs very slow!

Well, for me, Keyword Discovery and SerpAnalytics for these stuff.

I use Traffic Travis and SEOquake to just check the damn front page SERP's myself. I've gotten pretty good at determining my own fate when it comes to competition and SEOquake is an extremely valuable tool in that regard.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

I agree with that and the most important tool I feel as of now is google-keywords-tool from inside the adwords account (off course you should know how to use it). most important competition for me is first ten listings on google without "" or [].

I use SEO spyglass, i got a free trial that only lacks a couple of small things from the paid version.. im pretty sure its still available for free trial though..

It allows you to put in a link, or keyword and analyze the competitions backlinks, anchortext, gives an estimated link juice value for each backlink, dofollow or nofollow, sorting is allowed, fairly fast unless analyzing 1000s of backlinks, clickable link to check out site where backlink is from, PR of backlink, as well as pulls from ALL major search engines to find them ( i think the free trial list includes close to 50((it definetly includes Google, Yahoo, and Alexa)))

      Regards,

I really like the keyword blueprint tool for checking whether or not the keyword is really relative or not. It is also good because it gives me other good options.

They just came out with a keyword blueprint 2 to that has some marketing. It is virtually free.

        hope this helps,
        Kevin

If you are conscious of making money online. Use datas from various tools instead of one. Personally i use Market Samurai and check its data in google keyword tool, spyfu, keywordspy, semrush and i also check data in seoquake plugin for firefox (competition analysis). It takes a bit time, but its reliable. After analyzing pick the data which is most common in all....But, we can believe google adwords tool..
