There are no penalties. There are sites whose links are of low or no value, or whose link worth becomes devalued as a result of abuse. You don't get banned or suspended for having inbound links of poor value, but you can see a significant drop in rankings once Google identifies those links and devalues them.

It is definitely a NO NO!! I am speaking from my own experience. In fact I build my SEO experience 30% from classes and 70% from hands on experience. I once purchased thousand of back links from one guy nearly a year ago for one of my site. And this site was penalised by Google last week after 1 year because the links the guy was building for me was from Link Farm!! And as the site is penalised, all the White head SEO I have done after that is wasted!! This is a pity and there is no way you can clean the mess because you can't delete the backlinks from the link farm. So think Twice before you do that. If your site dont get penalised now, it will one day

Don't ever do a massive back linking to your site immediately. Make a few back links in the daily routine otherwise its a sign of red flag, which will alert Google to do something with your site.

ok, so what should I do? There are so many mixed opinions on this. The domain is 3 years old and PR3, but I don't want any bad things for it, so if this is more of a harm than good, I'll cancel all gigs. I rlly dont care for $40.

I regularly blast about 24,000 backlinks to some of my sites. Not a big deal.

They're fine. The majority are profile links, which if you really work to index you'll probably only get 70%. If you don't work to index them, expect about 5% indexation.

I've been doing it for years and have seen nothing but $$$$. **** to be honest if I ever were banned by google I would just buy another domain and build that one up to make even more $$$$.

You aren't going to get penalized from these. Just because you have thousands of back links in one day doesn't mean google is going to come across them all immediately anyway.
