Adwords Ad isn't getting accepted

So I'm running my first Adwords Ad to promote ClickBank products. I basically turned one of my adsense sites into a clickback affiliate site.

Now the problem is my ad was disapproved because "it doesn't meet advertising policy".

So from you warriors who are running an effective ad campaign with Google what are your opinions?

-Should I shorten my affiliate links?

-Should I just add my affiliate links to SOME pages, not all?

Basically teach me how to make my site acceptable for adwords.

It's more likely the products that you are advertising. Avoid MMO and Get Rich Quick type stuff.

Sounds to me like a case where your content is too ad heavy. No way to tell without looking at the site.

Tip: do a search of the keywords you were looking to bid on and check out your competitors content.

Well it's in the health and fitness niche.

The competition on the first page is a bunch of magazine sites and a couple youtube video urls.

One site is a competitor of the same product.

Should I add more content or lessen my affiliate links?

You need to be very careful with how you go about adding affiliate links. Ad a few as possible but make sure you place them strategically. Your site also needs to be able to stand on its own without the affiliate links by offering additional value.

I've built several affiliate sites that have been (and remain) approved by the AdWords team. Presenting it as an ecommerce site rather than an affiliate site goes a long way.

The landing page which is my homepage has no affiliate links at all just a skyscraper on the right.

The affiliate links come later into the site. They're in the articles. I don't know if that should be a difference.

Although the absence of affiliate links is helpful, it won't necessarily guarantee approval. Did they provide any details?

I get the same problem most of the time too while trying to promote affiliate products. Eventually I gave up promoting clickbank offers with Adwords.
Most of the time the problem is in keywords and or landing page. Make sure to use closely matched to your topic keywords that are of a good quality. As for the landing page, make sure that it has "About Us", "Term of Use", "Private Policy" on the website, especially if there is an opt-in form.
    Good Luck!

Providing an interactive user experience along with diverse content is important to the approval process. Most of the affiliate sites I put together start with QS of 7 for most keywords and that good start generally gets better.

More importantly, be sure the stuff you are promoting is within TOS.

Well they sent me an email saying "ad was disapproved because it doesn't follow Google advertising policy".

For the keyword I'm targeting on my ads should I have more of the keyword on my landing page? I only have one reference of the keyword on my landing page because my main keyword is different.

The new keyword on my ad is way cheaper to target.

Well, there could be a hundred reasons it doesn't meet advertising policy. Have you responded to their email and requested more information? I have found the AdWords team to be fairly responsive whenever I have questions of this sort.

By asking for clarification, you are demonstrating that you are making an effort to comply with policy. I've usually received good feedback.

Okay, from the email I'm basically getting that my site has more ads than content so I'm working on that now.

Are hyper links to my clickbank product considered ads?

For example if the word "Dog training" is hyper linked to the dog training clickbank book landing page is that considered an ad?

Also they said it's more like a "bridge page" than an actually page that can inform visitors.

well you need to be looking at the problem / the ad not the site, can you post the ad ? are you using the wrong destination / display url, restricted words or terms ?

that is what needs fixing, my guess after that then the rest will be cactus as well.

Your landing page needs to have far more content than ads. Provide a means for visitors to add their own feedback. Provide 300-600 words of solid content (maybe in the form of a review) as well. Add multimedia content (video reviews) and additional related content.

This is all stuff I talk about on my site and in the eBook in my signature.

Too many ads will definitely not get your site accepted by Google for Adwords. Its happen to me. Once I removed the ads and added more content it was accepted.

Bridge page is easy to get around with a good mix of legit content and by presenting options, etc.
