Hi warriors,

My past experiences on hosting was a bit confusing and frustrated. I am using a hosting that somehow had give impacts to ranking some of my sites. Here is the problem: I have 5 sites hosted with that hosting which only 2 sites manage to be in the top 10, while the 3 just stuck with nowhere to found in G. I have used same SEO efforts on all 5 sites, but only the first 2 was showing results.

So i would like to know if you ever experience the same, and what hosting have you use to avoid this to happen again.

I am refering to share hosting type.

I also like hostgator because they provide several video tutorials to guide you in several topics dealing with your website and I have never had any problems with any of my sites. Also every year they send me an adwords coupon. In fact just the other day I use one of their coupons to pay off a $90 adwords bill...

Have you been happy with Media Temple? I have a blog that's around 50,000 Alexa and keep running into problems with other hosts.

Sorry to disappoint you, but who you host with has nothing to do with your placement in the search engine rankings. If that was the case, we could all buy our way into top SERPs. It is all about your link profile. How many links do you have? Do you have more and better links than your competitors?

GoDaddy hosting is $3.99 a month for 10 GB space or $6.99 a month for 150 GB space. It is the registration that is about $10 a year.

Your registrar is where you buy your domain name.
Your host is what connects your site to the internet.
Your host and registrar do not have to be the same company.
Your choice of registrar or host does not influence the SERP of your web site.

I use hostgator reseller (aluminum) and find their uptime good and their support is just fine. They will really go out of their way for a newbie.

It really depends. Bluehost and HostGator are good if you have a "lighter weight" website. Just realize that these two only offer shared hosting, which is not reliable for all online businesses.

Conversely, if you need a dedicated server, I highly recomment HostingSource. They are extremely hands on and very reliable. I have never experienced such personal service from a hosting company. Plus, they are way less expensive than the rest for dedicated hosting.

Dot5Hosting. com Hostgator.com and for heavier duty, multi hosting with separate IPs MojoHost.com are excellent. As per others not a great lover of GoDaddy.
Dot5hosting has WP built in, online shop facility built in, FTP programs, etc etc Adwords coupons, all free of charge. Never had downtime and they have a free reporting tool as well.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it might not be your hosting having anything to do with your rankings. Just because you use the same tactics for several sites and some of them ranked doesn't mean that your hosting provider is at fault. It's quite possible you were going after more competitive markets with your other sites, or your on-page optimization wasn't as good, or a bunch of other factors.

If you have a few sites on your hosting account that rank and a few that don't, I really don't see how it could be your hosting company's fault. If they really were causing problems, none of your sites would be ranking.

I have a dedicated server with icertified and find their support and quality to be great. For shared hosting I have used GoDaddy for the past year and find them to be good, but you need to use a third party web-stats software becuase the GD stats are crap.

I remember reading a few years ago that IP blocks (sites with IP addresses from the same host) were part of the inbound link weight for PR calculations. So if your sites are interlinked one-to-another and they are all on the same server those links may be a disadvantage.

Hostdaddy and GoGator step away: Very good Cheap Hosting Offer from Hostnine: Reseller, Multiple IPs, VPS, Dedi

I just put March coupons up. Very good hosting, i always recommend them. And you get multiple IPs too.

Furthermore i use ukcheaphosts.com and SolarVPS. All of them are great.

Edit: I agree, the hosting hardly has anything to do with your rankings.

Assuming all other factors remained the same (no significant link acquisition, no major algorithmic factors, etc), you could say that the improvement in site performance and / or IP change correlates to an improvement in the rankings. Was it the IP address, the performance, or both? Correlation is not causation, and I fully understand that. It's just these charts show super compelling evidence to justify a proper study, in my opinion.
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of data and analysis you'd need to prove / disprove a causative relationship between page load time and rankings. I wish someboady with a lot of time and interest the very best of luck.

I don't really have a recommendation, but I can disrecommend Bluehost. I've found their service terrible. For example, when I first signed up, they never gave me a total before charging my credit card. That has never happened to me online before or since. They also offered a $50 Adwords credit, but only after I signed up did I find out it was only for new Adwords users.

It's gone on and on since I signed up. If I had the choice again to start over, I'd go with Hostgator. However, I'm too nervous about the transfer process.
