I'm building websites and trying to get ranked for certain keywords.

What are the benefits of Scrapebox and is it worth getting?

Will it help me with backlinking?

Thanks,

Jeremy

I never found it that useful either. I outsource all of my link building and it has generated me far greater results for half the price.

it is a really good software but you have to be very careful, you will fell tempt it to spam and them your site will get banned or in the akismet black list...
If you use it to scrape high page rank blogs and do a manually(relevant) coments then it can be very powerful. You can use it to scrape high pr forums and so many other things too. You have to take the time to learn how to use it properly. Please do not forget that you have to have a variety of diferent kind of links pointing to your site so scrapebox will not give you all of them. So it has to fit your backlink strategy.
    I would recommend it.

Yeah or first learn Scrapebox yourself, then hire someone who you teach Scrapebox..now that's even better then outsource your link building the standard way.

I love ScrapeBox, but don't buy it unless you're already semi-knowledgeable about SEO. It's a terrible purchase for a newbie that hasn't made a single cent, IMO. It's best used as a tool to speed up and accomplish certain tasks. If you think you're going to buy it and instantly get a million backlinks you're more likely to plummet your site into the depths of oblivion in the SERPS.

It would be kind of like buying a bunch of surgeon's tools when you first start medical school and trying to operate on someone.

Yeah I bought it for $97 too. Then I bought it again @ $57 to have Scrapebox on my work comp!! LOL! WELL worth it! I've dug soooo deep into my competition it's crazy! There was a thread on here someone was offering their Scrapebox helpbox tools for free - which helps when dealing with URL lists in the hundreds of thousands and millions... It really really works great!

Are you talking about the rapid indexing? b/c those don't won't live long enough to become backlinks.

I've got the 77777 list and after running that I had 55k live "backlinks." I think like 4 or 5 might have actually turned into backlinks LOL!

    Thanks,

After Google's update last February 2011, I don't think you should consider automatic software like scrapebox. Google is serious in winning the battle against spammers. I have tried scrapebox once by doing comments. Guess what? It is creating comments even on porn and gambling sites which can hurt your site's PR.

Manual and natural will always be the best tool.

I would like to get a software to assist me in my search engine optimization efforts. Recently I read up about scrapebox and the reviews were usually good, although some search engine Nazis didn't like it that much and blog owners suspected it was being used for spam them. So I wonder how one uses this software properly and with benefits for search engine optimization. What are the capabilities and what procedures can one run to use them for optimum benefits? Can I use it for blog comments only or for getting backlinks on directories, SB, forums and other sites as well?

Why are people thinking Scrapebox as a "spam" tool for commenting on blogs etc at first sight? That's totally not what Scrapebox was designed to do right from the start... if you view it as just a "spam" tool then of course it would be worthless, but it can do so much more than just auto-commenting on blogs.

A tool is only as evil as the person using it.. In the wrong hands it is a tool that can be used for spamming links (not recommended).. In the right hands it is one of the most powerful research tools I know and that research is priceless.

I don't understand when people say ScrapeBox is not spamming tool. The basics behind SB is that it finds list of blogs and then post random comments on these blogs with link to back to your site.

You are adding no value to other person's blog. You trying to fool search engines. I am sure Google will come up something that will stop these spaming.

True, but you don't have to automate the commenting side of things. The value for me is in finding some great blogs with page rank that I can then add value to by actually reading and making intelligent comments on.. In exchange for a backlink of course.

It's clearly marketed as a blog spamming tool, and surely that is the main reason people buy it, but I find way more utility in its other uses than spamming blogs.

If you absolutely have to have blog spam comment links to your site, even after Google showing us time and time again that they are serious in their battle against web spam, I suggest you just outsource it.

            Think about it.

If you own the software yourself, you have to learn how it works, you have to update the database, and so on.

For $5 on fiverr, you just need to have an URL and keywords and everything is done for you. Over time, of course, it seems to be more expensive - but if you factor in the constant maintenance, it seems more sensible to outsource.

Now, my personal preference is not to bother with links like these at all.. but that's whole another can of worms

To all the people that are thinking of getting it PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T GET IT!!!

I would like to continue to crush you all in the SERPS with my copy lol.

On a serious note, Scrapebox is REALLY powerful if you know how to use it. All the people that are hating on it are the people that probably just use it to harvest and spam. Using it that way is worthless.

Pick up a copy and invest like $40 or so in some of the tutorials floatin around and you'll make your money back 100 fold easy.

A tool is only as effective as the person using it.

I bought scrapebox about a week ago, and have a few concerns. I have run about 10 postings of about 500 url's each. When I checked for links in the first couple of runs, it said, none found. A couple days later I rechecked my first two runs, and was happy to see that about 75% of the links showed "link found", and assumed it was just a matter of waiting a few days for them to get approved.

Today I was checking some of my runs that I did a few days ago, and decided to recheck the first two runs I had already checked, to see if more links were found, just out of curiosity, and now those lists that showed about 75% found the other day, show none found. How could this be.

Out of every run I have done, I got about 5 links out of the whole deal. Between the learning curve, and doing the runs, I have about 10 hours into this. I could have done more links than that by hand.

I made sure I was checking the proper links for my site, so that is not the problem.

When I originally checked for links, I noticed that one of the sites showing a link, was one of my own sites, that had nothing to do with scrapebox. When I went there to look at the link, it was in the spam folder. I guess the link checker will notice a link in there, and count is as a link, but when someone dumps the spam folder they are gone. I am assuming that is what happened to all my links. Does this sound right.

Not so sure this is worth the effort.

          Thanks Glenn

This is a perfect example of a "newb" using it wrong (no offense).

Basically the issue you are having here is that you are mass spamming. You can't just harvest a bunch of URLs and hit post and expect links to show up. Most of the links you post will be on "moderated" blogs, and of course since it will be some generic comment, it will probably be just deleted or never approved by the owner of the blog.

Scrapebox is worthless when used like as a mass spam tool, you need to use it with precision.

One way you can use it is harvest a bunch of URLs, then use Scrapebox to gather the PR for each URL, then MANUALLY comment on the blogs with high PR so that you have a high chance of your link getting approved via a quality posting.

Another way you could use it is to harvest a bunch of URLs, then use the "Blog Analyzer" add on to find out which blogs are "Auto-Approve". Then filter out all the bad blogs which will leave you with all the auto-approved ones, and then "spam" your comments.

Ya digg? You doin it wrong man. You need to learn how to use the tool, seriously invest in some tutorials and learn how to use it. Because if you don't, it will be worthless to you. However for those of us that know how to use it, it is a godsend.

            Hope that helps.

One of my Wordpress sites must be on everyone's Scrapebox list because it gets thousands upon thousands of vanilla comments that are purely designed to create linkbacks. Sometimes if I'm feeling all spunky I'll go into the spam comments, find the ones with names on them, take out the links, fix the broken English, and approve the comments, just to amuse myself. No link love for the Scrapebox user and I just got a free comment! :p

Seriously, though, I would like to know more about the non-blog-commenting features of the software. Maybe I should just google it.

The thing you do with the spam comments is actually good for SEO. Google likes comments (from different ip's of course), as they show that people actually read your posts. A friend of mine tested this and he is positive it works.

Well, technically, the IP addresses are not on the webpage - only in the database - so Google can't really tell where the comment came from. With that in mind, I could spam my own blogs with Scrapebox and accomplish the same thing.

Besides commenting, it can scrape email addresses from pages, scrape all sorts of things from Google, Yahoo, Bing and OAL. If you are looking for facebook ID, it can scrape that too if I read that right.
Not only can it comment but it can also post trackbacks, trackbacks are very underestimated by the SB userbase.
You can scrape site maps, whois information, expiring domains, check backlinks, index links fast by RSS submission, check for nofollow, scrape alexa rank and PR from a list of urls, scrape Google images by keyword, check for fake PR, scan ports, outbound link checker and scraper, hell you can play chess and listen to music with it too.
$57 for ScrapeBox is like paying $57 for a full HD 3D flatscreen.

I am sure I forgot a couple of things like pinging to get viewcounts of your Fiverr account up, checking for backlinks to your site on a list of urls and some more but I think I covered the most options.

    Regards,
    Mark

Pinging to get viewcounts of your Fiverr account up? Now that's VERY interesting to me. Does it only work on Fiverr, or can it be used for other similar task services? Thanks.

You can use that on any web property that allows proxies to increase their view counts.
It won't work on YT or Ezine anymore.

As Google now only gives SERP bonuses to links from pages that are contextually related to your niche, automated blog commenting has officially become a total waste of time in SEO--unless you can do tens of thousands a day, which SB isn't really capable of for 90% of people's setups.

That said SB is a hugely useful piece of software for scraping backlinks, scraping search engine results, and promoting products with contextual blog commenting (considered by many to be white hat SEO.)

It's not called the "swiss army knife of SEO" for no reason. SB is highly versatile, just don't think you're going to get SERPs with blog commenting alone.

I think nothing is worth more than the Scrapebox. The advanced use of scrapebox is not as simple as many threads state here. The scrapebox has too many and excellent features. Of course it takes time to do everything but depends also on the effort you put on it. It has a lot of benefits as far as SEO is concerned.

Senuke is more powerful than Scrapebox, but it's too expensive, and you'd better run it on a VPS.

Just for the scraping feature alone it is worth 100 times the price. Once you have SB, you never need to purchase a backlink list again. You are free to create your own strategy and control how you link your site. Then add in the posting, rapid indexer, rankchecker, index checker and do-follow checker and it just incredible. I dont know how I ever lived without it.

Scrapebox is an excellent program BUT it won't get your website to #1 in Google alone. I have it and have used it for over 1 year. A few of my websites have over 10,000 links but don't rank well at all. Blog comments on spammed blogs have little link juice.

Here's the bottom line for success....the easy way won't cut it.

Scrape Box is really worst in front of manual work. It will not leave longer Duration !! It makes Dead the Website dead in next few months. So never go for it. Always Prefer for Manual even they are costlier..........
