I am very pleased with my Google check each month. It more than pays the mortgage!

It's all about traffic. My sites make between $5 and $20 per 1000 page views. It depends on your niche and the quality of traffic as to how much the clicks pay.

You can do the math to see what you need for a a decent income.

          Yes very true...
However, I believe in what you love and passion as far as writing is concerned and not money.
And that is how one should go about it.

Because, whatever we love to do, chances are that we do better than the mass in the long term. This is the magic mantra. And yes, then money follows.

I made my first small adsense site at beginning of July and made close to 20$ so far from 6 articles. The only problem is I don't really like to write articles, so I haven't touched it or wrote any new articles for a while. Guess I'll need to find another way to make money online than to write articles.

I used to think that, but I'm starting to get fustrated. I have had my site for over a year and only received $100 so far from them. My site gets around 100 hits a day and I put everything I got into the content, but now I only get around 1 click every two days. Gets me down, but I'm trying to stay positive. I'm pretty new to this field so learning everyday. So this gives me hope.

I've been trying to earn less. The ad programs I run myself are more profitable than adsense, and once setup, are very low maintenance.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I have over 30'000 monthly uniques and over 2'000 daily visitors and I make a whooping ... $22 per month.

The problem with AdSense is that it needs to be obtrusive as hell to the visitor - if you want a decent CTR. And besides that, my clicks get paid like 5 cents. The first reason is probably that my website is only 2 months old, the second reason is that I'm not in a very competitive niche.

Well, currently I'm really working hard to develop a good business plan to sell affiliate products ... and actually I'm hoping to make a little bit more next month. Professionals here on WF told me I should be making $2'000+ per month ... we'll see about that.

          Wish me luck!

Sure I can, it's WF. I think that my "secret" to this amount of traffic after 2 months is:

              1. I had quite some localized websites with practically the same content, so I finally translated everything to English and made an international version of the website.
              2. I linked to the new website from those localized websites, which all had PR4 or at least PR3. And they have related content, so those links contribute quite a lot, I guess.
              3. I did a killer on-site SEO. Really, I spent 100 working hours just thinking about optimal on-site SEO. And I did A LOT of reading. A lot!
              4. I did some article marketing with iSnare distribution to get a lot of other backlinks.
              5. I keep the content of my website fresh and it's always changing.

I think that's the whole secret ... It's just common sense really.

              I hope this helps!

I just wrote my 100th page for my new travel site, and after hitting 125 I will begin writing articles to drive traffic.

In addition to hear how much people make with adsense, I'd like to know:

how many total pages they have
how much traffic they receive per month

These two metrics should shed more light on this discussion...
