I think I need you to elaborate on what any of this stuff means.

It could be that I'm just silly and ignorant...but I'm lost on this one

I'm not satisfied with blogspot being there. Hardly any blogspot blogs provide useful content. They are mainly used for just building link wheels. Right?

And lately, I've hardly seen any blogspot blogs in SERPs for my searches.

Shhh... don't let my forum traffic here you say that.

I make good $$ from a few old blogspot blogs.

One of them is an authority site in my niche (500+ pages + Google sitelinks).

        Hi Karan,

        Wrong - in my opinion.

In my experience blogger is the favoured platform for the 'old school' bloggers/writers - you know, the ones who don't monetise and wouldn't, out of principle.

For example, if you were looking for 'real' news and decided that main stream media was useless for this, you will find much of the 'alternative news' scene is using blogger.

I think ezine is still strong. The other day I just entered a keyword to see the competition and ezine was on 2nd or 3rd spot and that particular article seemed to have 0 backlinks. The keyword I entered might be very weak but ezine showed up without any backlinks in the results so I'd say its still strong.
And squidoo has remained unaltered past the algorithm change. I didn't find any changes in the search engine rankings of many lenses.

I can't understand how blogger, wordpress and linkedin got there. Even myspace. Majority of them are not likely to provide great content.

I agree with you I think that a lot of the articles & sites where deindexed for having spammy keywords.

All of my blogspot blogs have always been top notch and top
rated. Never see a blogspot blog? Are you kidding? You don't search
        much...

I have no idea what the rest of the thread's point is. Keywords???
Those are websites, not keywords... It looks like a list of valuable
websites. What does that have to do with the common man?

Well until we get to such nonsense as...

Answers.com? Tripod? Are you kidding me?

Maybe we need an organic farmer update.

I agree with you paul google owns blogspot & youtube thats why there listed up front
also having ehow.com listed 3rd kinda confirms how accurate it is.

The Rank Decoding Engine works by seeing how many times a particular site shows up in the top rankings for search terms. It's usually pretty accurate because Google hasn't had such a massive algorithm change in a long while.

HubPages is still strong, but Farmer seems to be niche or technique specific. I know Hubbers who have been pretty much wiped out, but my Hubs are probably at 90% of their existing traffic levels.
