Ok this is a hypothetical scenario.

If someone is giving you a website, and you have 2 options to choose from, which would you choose:

A. Website with 500 unique visitors per day with 50% conversion rate

B. Website with 3000 unique visitors per day, conversion rate unknown!

(p.s. those are the starting figures, you can improve on them after taking over the site)

Which site would you take?

Conversion rate is the percentage of sales in comparison to your unique visitors. ie - if you had a 5% conversion rate for your online store, that would mean that you get an average of 5 sales per 100 visitors. So if you had 500 visitors per day, you could expect an average of say 25 sales per day. Obviously trends, seasons etc play a part.

50% is ridiculously high for conversions... so i'd go for the 250 sales!!

Of course the conversation rate! Traffic is easy, and if you have a 50% conversion rate...well dont need to tell you what you can do with that!
