Help!! My site disappears from Google! Is it because of Profile links?

This is what happened.

I built my site around February.

I purchased 3k Profile Backlinks Pyramid in WF Forum.

The report from the service was good and I got around 10% indexed rate.

My site actually got to the first page of Google last week.

Now, it doesn't even appear in 100 results

What did I do wrong? Is it because the site is new and Google suspects it because it got many backlinks overnight or Google have actually developed a way to detect profile links and remove sites that use profile links out of its result page?

I'm confused, worried! Warriors please help!

You probably got sandboxed so you will return but too many links too soon for a new site can be a issue.

Relax, it's just probably some google dance. As long as you didn't ping the 3000 list, I think it should be okay. Try Google site:yoursite.com
If it's still there then its still indexed. I had my site which was ranking number 6, disappear last night, not ranking at all, but still indexed. So just keep the links coming

Overnight low quality links can cause the issue. Work on building quality backlinks and yes don't freak. If you do a site search i.e siteyourdomain.com) and it's there then you're still in the game, just make Google happy, or the big G will crush. Quality backlinks all the way.

Don't worry about it. You're not gonna get penalised for the links you get, only the content on your page and the sites you may be linking out to. It just sounds like your site is doing the dance and will return soon enough. Just keep building good links in the meantime.

Almost all webmasters go through this at some point. It's commonly referred to as the google dance.

Despite what you may think, this can actually be a good thing. Most of the time, you will return higher than your previous ranking. It just takes some time, depending on how rapidly you built the links.

If you're going for a top spot, there is no reason for this to discourage you

Since your domain is new I would suggest taking it easy and building a lot of links by hand initially. Mixing follow and do not follow blogs with relevant content manually. A couple bookmarks here and there because it will take about three months to gain trust from the search engine. Profile links are so hard to index you can nuke away at them all day long and still find that only 50% of them were indexed after laying another tier of bookmarks and blog comments to them.

If you manufactured a link pyramid to a new domain and a lot of these links were indexed quickly it could of sent a huge red flag up because of the synthetic footprint. If these links were built with the same IP address and with poorly spun content then you might be screwed on getting any value from those links.

Profile links get indexed randomly (or never at all) but there is no way for the Big G to know if you wrote them by hand or with automated software. Unless they were all written from the same IP address. My advice, don't buy cheap backlink blasts from spammers. They don't care about your domain as much as you do. You will never compete with the big boys unless you can get links from root domains with decent PR. Make friends with webmasters and get your link on their sites. Or become a webmaster and plant your links on every client's site. These are always indexed and will send a lot of link juice your way.

DAMN! people just freak out when their site is dancing. Every new site must dance the Google dance even if you don't backlink your site, once it gets indexed it must dance.

But what matters is not if you danced but rather is how strong you came after the dance, my secret here is to always keep backlinking non stop but now, I will focus on submitting to web 2.0 properties, social bookmarkets and more profile backlinks and when my site returns, it always came back as the #1 and this strategy never failed me.

You can try it and hope it helps...

I think you got sandboxed and this will go away depending on how fast do you get some good links for your site. This can be even 3 mounth in the sandbox

Google dance, probably. Though if you've got a brand new domain it'd be wise to avoid huge profile blasts, comment blasts, etc. Instead, spread these out over time and mix in other methods. Do 100 comments a day, 100 profile links a day, write articles, exchange links with other sites, social bookmark your site, etc.

I also think 3k backlinks for a new site is too much to get sandboxed from google. If you find your site in google by typing site:yoursite.com.Then its okay and your site will be back again but how much time it will take to return back..well I dont know that.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3558689].message }}
    • Wow, thank you so much for so many replies..you guys actually have given me hope into this!

My site doesn't get sandboxed because Google still indexed it.

The thing is, the homepage disappears from the SERP while an article URL appears.

So I think I will spread my links more wisely, more links to deeper level page than the homepage and diversify the anchor text of links to my homepage a bit more.

You payed for 3,000 backlinks & got around 300 links that stuck?

No offense, but that percentage sucks!

Stop all the low PR backlinking. Now add a few hand picked high PR authority backlinks (on page PR only).

Yea this is right. I would like to reiterate, there is no such thing as a On page High PR profile link, so don't buy in to all those guys selling "High PR Profiles".

Now back to the issue, profile links are very slow indexing because it takes spiders time to get into all those profiles. That being said it is most likely a Google dance, maybe you should look into more High Quality links such as our Web 2.0 Link Pyramids.

This is exactly what happened to me 2 days ago. Wanted to get a little boost for my site to get number 1 position so i purchased profile backlink pyramid (just 250 backlinks pointing direct to my site) and lost all rankings for all my keywords. And its weird coz yahoo show me only arround 5-7 new backlinks. Now i am somewhere arround #300. Hope its just a bad google dance and i will be back stronger in few days.

Give it time, it might be all the options: sandbox, google dance (unlikely) and penalty.

There is only one cure though to all the above: constant quality link building

Agreed but another cure in this case is probably time. Google most likely found some of the backlinks and sandboxed you. Just make sure you keep building the links so it looks natural to Google.

I wouldn't worry to much, I have had that happen to my sites and they came back stronger then ever. After that I've had it happen again, and guess what, it came back even stronger...on page 1. Besides, profile links take a while to get indexed. Which I like btw, gradually being indexed.

    Hey Mike...

Build yourself some quality articles and web 2.0 sites first as your foundation, let those get indexed and then do your forum links, profile links, blog comments, social bookmarks, etc...

I agree that you're going to dance around some, but you should get out of the top 100 when doing so...

Like another guy said..."too many low quality links too fast" can def. sandbox or get a site delisted...

I do built some sites in Feb. but i did some articles and web 2.0 sites first...now all of them are on the first page of Google with the exception of 1 site which is #98...

    Thx,
    Bobby
