RSS feed and SEO

What is the impact of RSS feeds on SEO? Does a backlink on a feed equals a backlink on every link within that feed? Is there a difference between RSS and ATOM feed formats?

I use a RSS feed from FriendFeed.com only for SEO purposes which contains links for a whole bunch of pages on various sites.

    When your RSS feed syndicates to RSS directories, your content will have chances being pick up by auto blogs and authority sites.

    When these websites started to use your content, you might get link juice, if Google did crawl and index those sites, that's my understanding of RSS in terms of SEO.

    Yea, but this doesn't occur to much now a days, especially if you have crappy content. Most people use it for indexing now.
