How would you go about ranking on google.co.uk or google.ie rather than .com?

may well be a silly question but I have no idea:confused:

    To rank in other countries, you could get the country-specific domain extension, set it in Webmaster Tools, and use geotagging. I have sites targeting the US, UK, and Ireland.

    if you already own a .com .net or .org then just use google webmaster tool and just change the settings to target UK or depending on your preference.

    I bought a .co.uk when I first started out and I wish didn't now.

    If you're selling worldwide it'll be handicapped ranking wise everywhere barring the UK

    Hope this helps

    Find our .co.uk and .ie websites and get a link from there. And write articles in british english rather than american.

    Following ways are helpful in bringing your rank high in Google.co.uk,

    * Try to build the backlinks from UK ccTLD's.
    * Try UK business listings.

      Wow...thanks people. Amazing response.

      I already have a .co.uk site and its doing well on google.co.uk

      Not doing so well on .ie?

      I also have a .com domain that I want to rank on .co.uk and .ie so is it just a matter of visisting webmaster tool and just changing the settings to target UK (for the .com domain) and getting some high quality uk backinks?

      Anyone know where I can get UK and IRL backlinks?

    Do exactly the same as you would for a .com but include UK content and use a .co.uk domain name.
