What do you guys think about the idea of getting more than one website to page one of google with the same keyword to get the more traffic??

so 2 website with same hosting for the same keyword,
I am just curious if google would pick that up and affect you ranking?

    try it but dont host on same server do it on different ip address but no harm giving it a go is there??

      That's crazy. I get THE SAME website listed as #1, #2.
      Why not two? Where do you people get this stuff from?

      There really is no need for 2 separate sites. One is enough.

      The math will only give you so much traffic. Either all to
      one, or 50-50. The extra traffic would be minimal at best.

      How do you do it on a different ip? get on a different computer??
      If that different computer is in the same house, with the same internet connection, will that do the trick??:confused:

      "Don't host o the same server" -- Do you mean that if I am hosting with hostgator, I should switch to bluehost or something like that for my second website???

        Has nothing to do with your home PC IP.

        They are suggesting different server IPs.

    Testing it yourself would make give you a clear answer.

    Its the same concept as having your main site rank for your keywords together with your own web 2.0 properties.

    So the main point there is to just make sure it will not be obvious that all of those pages are owned by 1 person. Use another hosting etch.

    I agree with Paul in the sense that there really in no sense in using two different sites for the same keyword.

    What you should really do is identify the four most popular keywords for your niche, which have the least amount of competition, and target two of those keywords on each website.

    since there will be 10 sites on the first page of google, the traffic will be spread, if you have several sites there on the first page, you can capture more traffic.
