Websites VS Pages - Backlinks

I just realised that it's pages that are page ranked and not the entire website. For instance i visited a PR 7 blog to leave my comment like i've been doung only for me to find out that the particular article that i made a comment has a PR 0. So that simply means that i didn't get a backlink from a PR 7 page.

What do you think.

Page rank of particular web page really matter not. If website home page rank PR 7 then home page link matter the most not inner page. As may be inner pages have less PR....

Each individual page has its own PR. A site with a homepage of PR7 may have individual pages of PR4, PR3, PR0, etc. If you comment on a post and that post's page has a PR0 (and the link is dofollow) then you will get the PR juice from the PR0 page. The fact that the site's homepage is a PR7 has no direct impact on the power of your link on the PR0 page.

Its depends on your site where you put your comments. I think it will be better for you if you go through blogs or forums.

I would look at it this way. If the home page has PR7, then the link juice flows from the home page to inner pages resulting in different Page rank values for different pages on the site.

Most of the time, Google does not update the green bar for PR. So no one really knows the exact PR values at a given point of time.

Most importantly, if the PR7 is an authority in its niche (it would be after acquiring such a high PR), if you get a link on one of its inner pages on that site, rest assured that you are getting a backlink from a high authority domain. Do not just consider the PR aspect alone.

There is NO DOUBT that a Do-Follow Link from a sub page of a high Page rank site DOES definately feed through in a big way.

Just yesterday I had a site with 3000 backlinks, in a VERY tough market jump from Google Position 490 to Position 11 by adding just 2 backlinks from the inner page of a PR6 site.

Instant Improvement. I put in the link, the linked site jumps. X.

I'd like some PR7 Links now, 10 more places to jump.
