Congrats. I found that when I started to get days like this, it wasn't a freak occurance. It becomes more common. You are doing something right

First... congratulations on your $14 day!

I was just curious... are you saying that for two years you continually worked building sites / adding pages and your Adsense income never increased beyond $1 per day (I'm reading the $5 per day as in total income from Adsense and other income methods)?

Please realize I am not making this post to criticize. I truly just found this very interesting, if indeed this has been the case.

Thanks for asking. Well I've been maintaining one blog for 2 years. But like I said I was only actively developing it for 1 year. I add about 1-2 posts per month. But over summer I wrote out a 45 page ebook, which I also converted into series of post. I get most of my traffic from google though. I believe my content provides a lot of value to people interested in the subject.

I think the key to to getting more traffic actually was a large amount of comments that this blog gets. It helps me to rank for more keywords, and google sees my content as constantly updating.

I believe that if were doing nothing but building sites for 2 years, I would me making much more money now.

It sounds like you're definitely on the right track here. Your blog seems to be a fairly active community where visitors are leaving comments and interacting with each other, so take advantage of that fact and perhaps even offer an ebook for sale there (since it seems that your 45 page ebook that was converted into posts was well received).

Since you saw an appreciable increase in your Adsense revenue just through redesigning your blog, you should focus on increasing conversions through additional tweaking and testing. It may not be a bad idea to do some split testing as well.

I'm still not consistently getting clicks on my adsense sites and need to rework the layout a bit myself. Sadly even though I realize that would help my CTR I still haven't had time to do it because I'm working on an affiliate focused authority type site...
