So weird. I just decided a few days ago to write an article about rising food prices and lo and behold, it made it to G's first page ABOVE Time Magazine's article. I am floored. Granted, it may be a fluke, and it may drop off page one here shortly, but for the moment, it's getting me decent traffic (though no clicks).

So I have a question: Is it a good plan to write articles that are not necessarily product-driven but will rank well, simply to improve page rank (and because frankly, my site isn't super sales-centric - it's more informational). I mean, if I can get lesser competitive keywords with decent searches then my traffic will increase, even if my Adsense clicks do not. It will also genuinely increase the "authority" of my website for the demographic I'm trying to reach.

I am having a heck of a time with my Adsense and Amazon links though. I made a whopping $.14 yesterday from Adsense, and though my Amazon links are getting plenty of clicks - no conversions at all. I'm thinking of doing Chitika ads, but I just don't know. I don't want my site to be ad-erific, but I would like to make passive income from it. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Oh! One other thing - I noticed (and it's kinda creepy) that when I looked up "short haircuts" in G, the next time I visited my site, the link ad actually had "haircuts" show up! Ugh. On a Honeybee article! Goofy, and not exactly what makes sense.
