Hey all,

When targetting keywords and there are lots of different possible variations that the user could type into google. Is it better to buy the exact domain name match url, create a mini page and then do some seo work on that.

e.g. greeceholidayinsurance.co.uk - greece holiday insurance

Or is it better to personalise the seo on a page from the big main website and do some seo link building on that?

holidays.com/greeceholidayinsurance/

So buy domains or do work on the main site?

The thing I'm finding is that if I buy URLs then they need the exact key word match to feature on google. If there is a tiny variation the URL wont appear in google.

e.g. greece holiday insurace - shows up #1

green holidays insurance - doesn't show up

Im thinking maybe that customising pages on the main site might give better ability for this?

Please help,

Thankyou for you in advance,

Tony

If you focus on building an authority site it will be easier to manage. Also as time goes on it will be easier to get ranked #1 when your new pages are getting indexed on the 1st or 2nd page.

Exact match domains work... for now... only because Google hasn't updated their algo to not give so much credit to them... but don't be surprised if that happens too far from now.

    Agree with Victor.

If it is benificial then stick to one authority site and create pages off this i.e. if you are doing a lot of promotions around a similar subject then keep them together.

This way you can build links to the specific page (holidays.com/travelinsurance) and build its pagerank. It will also help if you have good interlinking within your site so if your main site holidays.com has a good PR then it links to your other pages and passes link juice. Also, when you build links to your specific pages then this will increase PR on that page and then this will further support your main page in a link cycle.
