Hello Warriors,
can anyone here recommend a good seo course? Im new to search engine optimisation and don't quite know where to begin

I know there's an faq section here buts seeing as though google likes to occasionally change its algorithms I'd like to start with a course that is up to date. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Cadi

Sure the search engines change, but the basics never really do. Keywords, backlinks, & on page seo, pretty much sums it up.

The FAQ section is a very good place to start. It has lots of concepts that you'll need to learn. After you get a grasp on it, searching the WarriorForum threads for free info will take you a long way.

A fellow warrior, Chucky, is running a free help thread right now with tons of good info for beginners: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...-revealed.html

    *Begin shameless self-promotion

There's a link to my free seo course (no opt-in) in my sig

    *End shameless self-promotion

In my opinion one of the most productive ways of learning SEO is to find warriors you respect here, click through to their profile, and read all of their posts. In all honesty, not everyone here is worth listening to, but there are a handful of pros that share a wealth of SEO knowledge here day in and day out.

P.S. some of them might be in your thread right now (fyi not talking about myself)

We are actually working on a SEO/IM course now that has been in the works for several years now. SEO has some pretty basic scenarios.

It is when you start getting into link building and being impatient that can hurt you.

My team has done many experiments with SEO on many sites to produce many different results some good and bad.
(We are putting all this in digital format and video now.)

Stompernet Stomping the Search Engines was the best course in the day and some of the concepts still apply today that they taught.

  • I'd spend some quality time on this forum. Try to look for threads dealing only with SEO or even do a search for 'SEO' in the title. Try not to get distracted and just read threads related to that. This place is a goldmine.

I learned from Google! I read a ton of information and slowly began testing each idea to see what was the best for me and my sites. don't be afraid to try new things and if something doesn't work for you , don't be afraid to stop using that technique. I would start with onsite SEO.
