How Important is It to Ping?

Hi! I've been wondering how important it is to ping the backlinks. I've manually built some quality backlinks but never pinged, because I don't really know how it works. I think you need a list of pinger list, but I don't know where to find them and what are must-have ones. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks a lot.

    Ahhh to ping or not to ping. I say ping plus I am sure wordpress wouldn't have pings in their backend if it was not a natural thing.

      Allow me to illustrate something.

      There's a page already indexed. Say, a blog post. You leave a comment and then PING every time. Why? Think Google's dumb and won't pick up the pattern of a spammer?

      You know that Google will come back to that page so leave it be.

        Ahh I see. But again I don't see the harm in alerting Google of its presence ....well HOLD ON LOL that of course depends on the link. A great guest post I don't think the big G is coming for you. However trashy links from forums etc. With fake profiles. Well that is different I will have to go with Cos on that.

    Yeah I don't think I'll ping low quality posts/links. I just want to make sure that the high quality links that I built got indexed. So I'll go ahead and PING!

    but if their High quality as in a my guest post example.......they will def get ranked anyway because the sites you are doing that on will have pinging if they are wordpress sites or blogs. Or just in general so no need to ping.

      Pinging your backlinks is very important because when you make backlinks search engines take time to crawl them and we don't have time to wait so ping.

    Pinging as important as updating the blog everytime. You should take care to send the ping every time new content is posted and published on your site or blog. It improves search engine visits and crawlings.
