What would be the most efficient use of time?

Well, I've been checking into things and if you read my previous posts I had loads of lost traffic. It seems to follow the pareto effect with 80% of the loss coming from 20% of keywords. I was ranking well for some really good keywords in my niche on page 1 but now these pages have taken a hefty slap and are nowhere to be seen. I do rank for some long-tail keywords but the vast majority of my pages are not even first page.

I don't have much time to work on these, few hours a day. What would you suggest is the best usage of time?

1) Creation of new content: Previously, I could write 8 new articles a day into the content. I am using SEO Smart Links so there are loads of internal links to other articles.

2) Optimization of current articles. I am using All in One SEO pack but rather foolishing had not tagged any articles or given SEO name or SEO description. I could go back and sort this out but I have around 500 do to.

3) Build links. I could build a link wheel of types for my site by registering on other sites after reading a guide here.

At this point I don't wanna spend any monies on software unless it could be free.

    I'd choose handful of articles that were getting the most traffic. Then fix their onpage seo before building any backlinks if you decide to do any.

      Hey, thanks for reply. I already identified some of the pages that are still getting the hits. So, I am just filling out the All in one SEO forms for it, and adding tags in wordpress and checking the contents for good keyword density. As well as providing more links on them to navigate the rest of the site.

      Is that good enough or should there be something else?

    Try spend more time on contents building, use All In One SEO Pack add tittle, description and keywords, high quality and original contents are definitely beneficial for your website.

    In the keywords section of all in one SEO?? I thought these were now not counted by Google, am I right? should I leave this blank?
