Different Result in Firefox vs. Internet Explorer...Why?

I am really confused now. I have a website for my real estate business. I haven't done much off-page seo at all. But I have been putting up a bit of content periodically and have a bit of inside linking and I've optimized the site decently. I have a few back-links via blog-posting and a couple on Facebook.

Having said all that, when I type in "brampton real estate agent" (without the quotes, I am on the first page, using Firefox on my laptop. On Internet Explorer I am on page 3. On my Mom's computer, (she lives about 3 km from me) using Firefox, I am on page 3. Is my laptop biased towards me?

I have to say....this cat and mouse, seo, google chasing, daily grind is annoying. Just when you think you're progressing, you're not. Apparently, other people don't see what you see in the serp's.

Frustrated.

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony.

I would say this, have you added yourself to google maps/places ?

I ask because when I googled the keyword the 1st results where ones with maps, so I would recommend that you add yourself on and optimize that so you could rank in the top 5.

Just here to see the shenanigans.

Thanks for that. I did put myself in the maps but it's not well optimized. That will be my next task.

      Tony.

    Hi Tony,

You are experiencing the personalized search feature of Google search. Google remembers search history for each browser and prioritizes the websites that you clicked on previously from your search history.

Thank you, that makes perfect sense. I will now turn that feature off as it's giving me false hope, lol.

      Cheers,

      Tony.

Yes, personalized search. You can use a rank checker I use the one from seo book for free and that way I know where my rankings stand. It is hard to just google the key terms since it is all so personalized now! good luck with your efforts.

Yes, this has become clear now. It's quite annoying.

Is it the same way in the parallel universe? Lol .

IT is because you always open your site on your Broswer daily wich your broswer reconique your site. So, each time you type that KW prhase, it will definitely show up in the first page #1 for you. That's a normal event!
