Using private proxies in RssBot?

Has anyone had success using private proxies with RssBot? This program doesn't have a way to test the proxies you use so I entered them in just like Bookmark Demon and when I try to submit my rss feeds they all say error. When I erase the private proxies and submit them they are successful.
I plan on creating different rss feeds of my backlinks and submitting and pinging them with this program so I will be doing a lot of submissions and need proxies. Anyone had success with free proxies?
