Yes. Because it got many backlinks and traffic in this period. Any website if get a lot of backlinks from high pagerank pages, will be like this. scrapebox.com has many traffic and many people use and talk about it even in warriorforum.

Honestly, sites that gain PR that quickly tend to have a viral aspect to their marketing strategy. Viral marketing takes a mixture of luck and skill - with the skill part being the marketer creating a (video/ad/image/reputation) which people will want to pass around.

Once they go viral, people backlink to them without any effort on their part. Google takes notice - and in a good way.

I thought I read about one case (in the SENUKE X hype) of something similar in only a few months.

Backlinks, and traffic, magic combination, but traffic that is actually staying on the site, and not bouncing (Google take that into account).

Its been proved that bounce rate cant be taken into account unless you have Google analytics installed or the person have the Google toolbar installed I believe..... Forget the exact post I read, but it was very convincing.

Also this would work against some sites whose job it is to send people to other resources in a legit manner.
