The "High Quality Sites" algorithm rolled out to everyone yesterday - everyone in English anyhow - according to yesterdays blog - Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: High-quality sites algorithm goes global, incorporates user feedback

might be important to some from an SEO standpoint. I saw 1 site drop to the 3 page (.com) but interestingly another site (same name .org) which was on page 3 climbed to page 1 and in a higher spot even (vs. 308million pages). I'm unsure what this means at this point.

I saw the same things as you. I had one site fall slightly and one site climb a few pages. Interesting to say the least.

It always is when Google does this. One of my keywords dropped a few pages and others rose...go figure.

Its always like this. No one can make a 100% accurate algorithm to know all spam and useless sites. And we should not expect it at least in this decade.
