BACKLINKS PROBLEM:HELP PLS!

I have created an affiliate website with around 6 posts which are unique and provide good quality related to my health topic. I have created many backlinks from the first day and pretty much every day since.

I would say I have around 350-400 backlinks created including deep links. Only 65 backlinks are showing and mainly the one's that have lower PR or no PR. The website has been opened on the 29th March and I am wondering why my backlinks are not showing.I am really worried as I seem to be building quality backlinks for no reason.

I am currently on page 3 of Google for my keyword(position 22) and want to rank number 1 or 2. All my on-page SEO is done very well, the structure of the website is good,so I don't think that my on-page SEO is what drags down the website. I have done reverse engineering on my main competitors. And I have also created backlinks that I have researched(no spam) from a variety of sources like articles, web 2.0, blog comments, forums, websites, etc.

I really can't work out why my backlinks are not starting to show faster, as this will facilitate my rankings.

Any advice please?

My advice: be patient. It has only been two weeks since you made the site, and even less time since you built those backlinks. Give the links time to be crawled. Also, don't forget to check multiple sources to see your backlinks - Google's "link:" search is not the be-all-end-all of backlinks. Check Yahoo Site Explorer, BacklinkWatch, etc to get a better idea.

There is no one source which will exactly tell you the total backlinks. Use different sources to confirm the data as mentioned by mandark.

And don't be too aggressive if it's a new domain and has low number of visitors. If there are thousands of links and no visitors to your website, it will not take too long for G to know what are you trying to do. Certainly there are ways to speed things up, but that's a complete course in itself. In nutshell, keep creating fresh contents consistently and keep generating visitors for your site along-with doing backlinking.
