Tips for Amazon Affiliate Program?

I've been really ramping up my Amazon ads on my site, both with tables of relevant products and linked text. I'm super jazzed because I've sold 7 items this month so far, and that's a first for me. I'm hoping it will increase over the rest of the month.
What tips do you have for Amazon ad placement or other ways to increase Amazon sales? I try to make sure I've got a good price mix so people won't be intimidated by crazy expensive stuff, but those with the cash can still click the "better" items. I'm doing a 5-wide picture link ad table about mid-way through my articles. It looks pretty cool, and I've actually sold two higher dollar items through those.
Anyway, I seem to be making more off Amazon than I am on Adsense (not much more), so I'd like ideas about how to really optimize my site for Amazon to maximize my income potential. Thanks!
