I wanted to write a couple of articles on various topics on Hubpages and EzineArticles to bump-up my money site in the SERPS. But the question remains are they effective as they once were before the "Google Panda Update". Obviously, No they aren't effective as they once were. But are they any good at all?

What are a list of "Good" sites to write on besides Squidoo?

*Good: Do-follow, high PR (4-9), Branded, carries weight in the SERPS.

If all you want is a backlink, why bother with an article?

I think the recent google update made article directories much less effective for improving rankings, but I've heard that squidoo lenses and other web 2.0 stuff like facebook and twitter etc still provide good link juice.

Does facebook or twitter really have significant affect in the serps?

No. And I've made my tests.

As for your question: of course it's worth it! I don't see why Google would devalue a hub or article just because of their latest update.

I mean, as long as the content is good.

I'm trying to create backlinks with content involved instead of profile, bookmarks, and non-niched oriented backlinks.

Do you know of any sites like squidoo or hubpages?

If your in it just for the backlink, then your better bet is probably Ezine Articles. Either way it is just an article and will most likely not carry any pagerank until it has been indexed and ranked by Google.

EZA is still worth it but I don't think Hubpages is still useful anymore.

I found that to be true too. Hubpage articles are getting better SERP resutls. Also they get indexed quickly from what I've seen.

I recently used Knol today and since its associated with Google maybe it will carry some weight. Time will tell.

Thanks for your input guys. Anyone know other sites besides: squidoo, hubpages, ezinearticles and knol?

I think ezinearticles ,hubpages and squidoo are still good, you can continue with. There is one more site that is infobarrel.com which is also good site you can consider this.
I still get traffic and link juice from ezine , hubpage and squidoo but follow their guidelines and just stick to those guidelines it will be good for you.

Do any of you use Postrunner from The Keyword Academy? You can join TKA for $33 a month, and be able to submit to other blogs. The blogs, though, are mainly low PR sites.

So, my question is, would it be worth it to spend the $33 for TKA if you want it for the articles, or just stick with the free ones like HubPages, Squidoo, InfoBarrel, EzineArticles, etc?
