Finding OLD blogs for backlinking

Ive been experimenting some, here's a few things to google. I've actually gotten a backlink on some pr6 pages using this.
inurl:mt-comments +Remember personal info? +2003
"Proudly powered by WordPress" 2002
Just visit blogs, and look for a common text, doesn't have to be MT or wordpress. Adding the date, which you can change to different years, seems to give SERP's of old established blogs.
