What Is ScrapeBox ?

1) you create big lists of blogs or other types of CMS sites using footprints.
2) you can automatically comment on those lists of blogs (with your link)
3) you can mass PING url's
4) you can submit mass trackbacks

Those are the main features. But you can do ALOT more advanced things

It does lot of other stuff. But one of the main use is blog commenting.

If you do blog commenting manually, it will take lot of time for you to post. However, scrapebox post like 100k comments in few hours. Obviously, these all comments will be spam.

How it can do this? Scrapebox posts on various platforms. Like wordpress. 400,000 new posts arrive on web everyday which use wordpress.

Don't listen to those that say it is a spamming tool, of course it is, but it's not the tool that is is spamming, it is the individual.

With what I know about BCD I don't think you can compare the two, I believe BCD will only find blogs and you will have to manually comment but I am not sure.
SB has tons and tons more possibilities and is $10 less than BCD.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to go on youtube and search for videos on both softwares?

If you have any moral issues regarding spam comments, then use the manual comment feature of Scrapebox. Scrapebox can find the blog pages to comment on, based on your keyword or what ever, and then you can write the comment manually.

Obviously not as quick as letting Scrapebox do all the work, but a large part of the work, ie. finding the blog pages to comment on, is done for you very quickly.

We were looking at ScrapeBox, looks like a nice piece of software. We are first testing parallels so we can run it on our mac. Shame there is no mac version but for how easy it is to install boot camp, etc, its no huge deal breaker!

Poor quality information is rife on the internet in general and in our industry in particular. Others have already pointed you in the right direction, SB is merely a tool and if used responsibly you won't be penalized and your SEO can only benefit.

Just to give you a look at the many uses of Scrapebox, here's a pretty obscure one.

Best for comments like everyone said. Just know that if you're using it for backlinks, you need a TON of comments a day for months at least for the backlinks to work well for you. Blog commenting isn't as powerful a backlink as it used to be.

There are some pretty good videos on youtube about ScrapeBox. They will be the best answer for your question. Just do a little search

Commenting has a very low value to improve your SERP (in my experience) because it is very easy to get backlinks (G knows that). Anyway if you are doing them a lot then you have to continue forever for baclinking speed reason otherwise you will be punished. But commenting is good for spreading your link patterns (also important) not for improving your SERPS.

Scrapebox is basically software that will let you find blogs written on a particular niche/subject and then sort them by PR level (Google Page Rank) to find which have the highest PR (the higher the better). It will then proceed to automatically post comments to those blogs for you using text that you've written for it to post for you. In order to not post the exact same message to each of the blogs, it also lets you 'randomize' words and phrases so your comment seems different each time. By posting to hundreds of these 'high PR' blogs, you are also including your website URL linked in each comment which thus created a 'backlink' from that blog to your site. It is believed by many SEO specialists that the more backlinks you have to your site, the higher you will be ranked on Google. And the more backlinks you have that are coming from blogs that have a high PR number, the nicer Google is to you
