Google Sniper Keyword Competition

I was watching the Google Sniper 2 video about Keyword Research.
I noticed that when George was looking for the right keyword, I choose several keywords and checked the competition.

As I watched the video, I typed into Google exactly the same keywords as George did and the search results have increased dramatically, just in few months for every keyword.(since he recorded the video.)

Even the Sniper keyword he choose has 80.000 more competitors now.

Im sure google have changed their search results in the meantime so the given competition guideline in GS2 is so much harder to get now!

Does this have something to do with last Google algorithm change?
Do you think the GS2 competition rule is still relevant as every search result is given tens of thousand more results now!

    I dont think it has anything to do with the algorith change. The requirements of GS's keyword competition is to find something that people will buy but no one is promoting.

    If you have the right tools or know how to do proper keyword research this is very easy to do.

    Think about all the people that bought his course, how many of them do you think tried to take a short cut with their keyword research and went after the few he showed in the video? To make google sniper work you will need to hone you keyword researching skills. You are also going to need to do more work than he states.

    While his method is effective, it is more effetcive if you take it further and provide more quality content.

    Also you should use the exact match and not the phrase like he states. It gives a more correct amount of search results that you might actually see.
