Sometimes I have noticed one of my pages ranking high in bing and yahoo, but not so high in google. When I review the page content, I usually find that the keyword I am checking my rank for does not appear much in the body of text.

I think google cares much more about having the exact words on the page a few times, than yahoo & bing do. Yahoo & bing seem to give more weight to backlinks than google does.

If I revise my text to make the keyword appear more frequently, my ranking rises in google. (This takes up to a month, allowing time for the page to get noticed, re-cached, and re-ranked.)

I can't comment on the relative speed of getting indexed in each search engine, because I never looked at that.

I think they have different standards to determine the rankings of every site in Google, Yahoo, and Bing. I find Google is very strict when it comes to content.

I am page one in google, at the top for my main keyword that links to my main page. Wish come true! BUT! on bing and yahoo im page three.

I much prefer getting in Google's pants instead of the others. haha

google also holds the majority of the power when it comes to search engine referrers. People hardly use bing and yahoo. Look at your google analytics.

While traffic from yahoo & bing combined can't beat google's, it's still traffic. And you don't discount traffic.

Bing is a quiet slow in indexing. But shows better results than google. I find it really hard to optimize for bing but when i look for relevant results I would prefer bing.

I don't want to sound like an arrogant ca$$hole here, but any traffic from any search engine is still organic traffic and is just as targeted and relevant as another search engines organic click.

No matter what search engine gives you the click the visitor is still going to be looking for the same thing. So you may as well optimize your site to please google SEO wise.

These stats are right off my Google analytics saying what search engine gives me what percentage of visits:

      Google: 81.85%
      Yahoo:2.68%
      AOL:1.19%
      Bing:.68%
      Ask:.51%
      search:.51%

I don't care too much for any other search engine if they rank me high or not. If they do then sweet! But usually I aim to make Google happy.

Well as per my point of view, both search engines carries same value as both are working very hard to serve people the best service as they can and to provide relevant search result.
