Where my keywords stand in Google

Ok, so my website just got indexed today on google. For one of my keywords, I am on page 7 of google, but I have not actually written any articles or done anything except answer a few yahoo answers. Just wondering, once I start building more content and keep updating my blog/site, will I have a good chance of ranking1st page on google?

My main keyword that I want to get ranked for is nowhere to be found out of 67 pages I looked through, is that a bad sign? Or will my site get recognized the more content I write and more articles I write with backlinks to my site. Plus I will continue writing yahoo answers, and start social bookmarking, ping-ing and writing articles.

Is there any chance for my main keryword? And what is the chance of my pg 7 keyword making it to the first page on google?

Thanks guys, and rememeber, so far I haven't actually written any articles or done anything for traffic because I have been waiting for my site to get indexed.

    Okay, so I just realized that another one of my longtail keywords ranks at pg 10. So that means that two of my longtail keywords are top ten, but the one I really want to rank for is nowhere to be found in 68 pages i looked through.

    The main keyword is used on my blog, it is the title, domain name of my site, and it is in one of the posts in my blog(intro, center, conclusion). Is it ok to publish more posts on my blog with the same keyword? I don't want to put too many of the same keywords if that is frowned upon

      it's okay to repeat the keyword or phrase in every page to about 90% of titles. I am working with a software developer that will give you that percentile. the tool is in beta or I would help you with it now.

      you can go to 100% but as you mentioned you don't want to be to spammy.

      make sure you list the key word in the top middle and bottom of every page but not necessarily every post. ultimately I would tell you that a blog is not a long-term investment. it's a good start which is what it sounds like you are doing. but ultimately in the long run if it is of competitive keyword term blogs don't ring very well.

      very rarely do I see a blog on page 1 (if ever).

        Well there are a few free sources/sites on the first page of google for that specific keyword. So I don't see why my blog couldn't make it to top page,or atleast one of my articles that are full of good content.

        What I really want to know is if the keyword not found on the 68 pages has a chance to get a good rank? just wondering why my other two long tail keywords landed on top ten pages of google, but the other one is nowhere to be found. I did good research on them to make sure they weren't very competitive, but they also got a decent amount of GMS (global monthly searches) and when I searched the longtail keyword into google in parentheses, EX: "my longtail keyword" there is under 10,000 search results. Also, when I search the longtail keyword in google, the top page consists of a few free sources/sites, like I mentioned before. There is an EZINE article second on the page for one of my keywords, there is also a blog on the first page, along with a youtube video

          These sites on the first page have natural in there longtail keyword instead of naturally.My longtail keyword consist of the word naturally, and when I search my longtail keyword, results with natural come up on the first page. Does Google recognize the difference in natural and naturally? I my longtail uses the word naturally instead of natural, and someone searches my longtail keyword, shouldn't naturally come up instead of natural since that is what they searched for? Sorry if this is confusing, but I would really like figure that out
