How is this adsense code done?

Hi Guys,

While browsing, I came to this website http://www.retailmenot.com/view/instantcert.com and i'm intrigued on how it was able to highlight the google_color_link with yellow. I viewed the page source but there's nothing in there. I viewed the css file and nothing there too.

Does this comply with adsense TOS?

Does anyone know how it's done?

Looks like they might have a special relationship with Google. Publishers with a "special relationship" can do all sorts of things that would be against the terms of service for regular peons.

The reason you do not know how they did it is probably for a good reason. However they have done it, I am sure that they want to keep their coding a secret.

If that isn't the case it is likely they have a deal with google or are going against the TOS and are really good at hiding it.

Either way, good luck getting to the bottom of it.

      Cheers,

retail me or not is a big website and has a special relationship with google to where they can better blend in there ads. I think if you make over 100 a day you will get this offer.

Are you sure of this? $100 a day and google gives you an offer? I have been earning that much already since 2007 and I have not received any such offer from google. Or shall I write to them about it?

I am almost certain of it. there maybe some exceptions. You must be earning 100/day per website. not combined total. I know that xfactor has those privleges for his big health website. If you have one website that is earning 100/day I would send them an email. Congrats on your success by the way.

    I see. I thought it's 100/day combined total.

    Thanks for the info.

I don't think that site is a premium publisher - so don't what they're doing.

Some wrong info on here - premium publishers are invited by google. As far as I know you can no longer apply to become one.

Though the number isn't exact, google has said around 20 million hits or more per month "may" qualify a site to be invited as a premium publisher.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

They have an alexa rank of 792 so they are probably close to that 20 million mark

It's the Adsense API. You can apply if you have volume.
API makes sense. Didn't even think of that.

API is a revenue sharing model for adsense and all you need is 100,000 page views a month to apply. It is confirmed in a google press release that you must have at least 20 million page views a month for the premium publisher account. To my understanding they contact you.

I could have sworn that Xfactor said he was offered an account and had 100 a day in his website. I guess I was mistaken.

Retail me or not must have the premium account.
