SEO activities can be split into two main categories...

onpage and off page....

Depending on what i am starting.. I spend time on both... how ever when you know SEO pretty well.... you will find that some projects need more online and the others need more offline.... however know this....

SEO is a living breathing animal... and unlike cheetahs, it changes its spots every so often.... so always have some time to study/test and learn more to keep up with the trend.

My activity 20% onpage and 80% offpage.

I build profiles, leave good comments on the blogs, write articles so people can share with others, create a lot of free content to get more backlinks, use good quality press releases, submit to high quality directories. At the moment I am doing good

In my experience the most important thing to do is to make a plan.

Try to put down some ideas/activities, like:

OFF-PAGE
1) blog commenting
2) forum posting
3) social bookmarking

ON-SITE
1) writing new content
2) keyword research
3) optimizing your website
4) keeping your website updated (plugins, cleaning code, researching new widgets, etc.)

THEN
Stick to the plan, by doing at least any of the point everyday.

I do
1) keyword / market research
2) registration of domain names

Outsourced
3) Content writing (to my writing staff)
4) Posting of content and installing plugins (Vas)
5) Automated Link Building (mostly drip feeding links done by my staff)

Alot more scaleable and less like a 9-5 job.

Currently the main daily thing I do is add one new article and submit it to social bookmarking sites. I may spin it and add it to article directories. I also post on a forum in my niche throughout the day.

Depending on the niche competition you have to do more or less. I think the main focus should be on creating new content and building backlinks. And creat new micro niche sites which requires more than content and backlinks.

On daily basis, I do directory submission, forum posting, blog commenting, posting news on social bookmarking sites and article submission. These activities done on daily basis can gain good ranking in search engine.

There is warrior on here that gave me a report that total handled one page SEO so now that is easy and I do it as I post something new so hardly no time on on page SEO anymore.

As for off page, I just do what I do to get targeted immediate traffic and the SEO comes along for the ride.
I write articles that get syndicated thousands of times on Qondio.com and ideamarketers.com,
post youtube videos and allow sharing
post at least 5 posts on relevant forums related to each niche daily.
and update my auto social networking poster I got for free on this forum about once a week.

I would like to go with a few unique posts on my site and then bookmark them to the top 10 bookmarking sites.And then i will do some blog comments on high pr.And then post on some free press release submissions and finally work with article submission.All these things i will work out with the relevant niche sites and with pr 4+.Thats it i do and i am successful in achieving better results.
