Hi guys,

I've been trying to get my site ranked top 3 on google for a certain keyword for about 3 months now, and thats about the age of my site.

Over the 3 months heres what I have done trying to achieve this

On site keyword optimization
Keyword in description
Keyword in title
Keyword in URL
Linkwheel
Lots of profile backlinks
Lots of blog comments linking back
Signatures on sites
Articles
Press release
Social bookmarks
And I have also pinged and set up feeds in attempt to get more backlinks indexed.

I was sitting around spot 6 or so on page one for a nice while and check on it a little over a week ago and now I am nowhere to be seen on any page for my keyword.

It still comes up when I google site:mydomain or www.mydomain.org

but no where for the keyword I am targeting, Should i just wait and hope that it comes back or is it gone for good?

Basically I'm totally lost and wondering what you guys think I should do

Thanks

so you stopped building links? You need to continue building, it is a never ending process.

Sometimes, it just depends on the link strength, and how many stay. Maybe your competitors built more links. Maybe you changed something on site.

I dont think my keyword is to high of competition

but are a few high pr back links from a home page like pr4 really that powerful? theres a wso i saw its like 20$ and he'll show you where to get some then you buy them for 10 dollars a month so for not even like 50$ i could get some but would it really help or just slightly help?

Just keep working on your links. Don't go straight for buying things. You would be better spending your money and time working on your content and giving outside people a reason to link to you. This will also provide the content that Google is looking for to help you rank. This occurs often when sites are newer that they will pop up and the drop to what their ranking should be within a few months. I don't know how long you have had the site up, but I have seen in the past that many times it isn't till about mount 5 or better that you really start to see a constant position and you can make all your judgements about what to do then. For now build links, and work on your content and you should be fine in the near future.

    [QUOTE=Luke112346;3832381]Hi guys,

I've been trying to get my site ranked top 3 on google for a certain keyword for about 3 months now, and thats about the age of my site.

Whats your main keyword and what is your website url?

It usually takes between 3-6 months for a site to rank in a competative niche.
Domain age is important so be patient.

I was sitting around spot 6 or so on page one for a nice while and check on it a little over a week ago and now I am nowhere to be seen on any page for my keyword.

You got a penalty for something...probably building too many links
