Thanks for the enlightenment...

    Google Adwords

    First of all, it's Google...

Secondly, until I see Google stocks hitting an all time low or see some type of recession, I am sticking with adsense.

    Lastly, it's Google...

    Cheers

Really if you can master media buys, you'll be mastering Google at the same time. You can do a "media buy" using your Google AdWords account. Look into placement ads... it allows you to pick any web site you want and you can display your ad on it as long as they accept Google Advertising.

Media buying will get you much farther than Google. Google's too picky and they change their crap all the time. Learn media buys and start searching for people who rank high for your keyword and go to them and ask to place a banner on their site.

ditch google and go media buys (learn first, don't go blind).... google is only good to you so long they think u are a 'clean & honest' client....

I completely agree with post above me...

Google AW is a washed out system now.... unless they change their ways dramatically...its outlived it usefulness....

Since there is no other clear winner.... i would pick media buys.

Since you are now asking the question..... why not broaden your horizons even further....

Why did you pick media buys instead of anything else that is out there these days?

HAve you tried 7search? no i am not affiliated with them... i just wanted to see if you have had experience with them

I think it depends on the size of your
    wallet and what/how you're selling.

*Most* people I've known that have
had success with media buys have
    started with Google content network.

I also know someone who lost $10K
in a matter of weeks because he had
no idea what he was doing - what
worked with JV and affiliate traffic
was a disaster with traffic from
    WeatherBug and eDiets.

Once you get into media buys you're
    typically talking about large chunks
    of cash, spent quickly.

You better *know* how your system is
going to perform with that type of
    traffic.

I would not narrow it to one.

But although traffic may be cheaper on media buys, media buys generally require a huge investment.

I like Google Adwords for testing a display ad, and media buys once the advertising has been proven effective.

And they will, so long as you have an image that delivers real results.

Yes, I agree, Google Adwords is the way to go. Even more important is to make sure you get enough searches for the keyword you are targeting. No point in setting up Google Adwords, Media Buys or anything else if nobody lands on the page it's on. So, yes Google Adwords is best I think. But before you set up a campaign, make sure you do your keyword research too.

Interesting because I was asking myself the same question today and came to a conclusion...

My plan is to try and find good placements through google and test the banners and click thru rates of my banners and landing pages with Google placements...after I have optimized my banner >>> landing page >>> offer....I will then look at that sites that are converting...than solicit webspace directly from them or from other similar website owners by going directly to them and leaving Google in the dust!
