How Is This Possible... FREE Money From Google?

I used to play around with research and sometime in last year, I found a good adsense niche that has a CPC of $7.

So, I gave the niche to my friend to try and he set up a site with a keyword that has over 10,000 searches / month. He then went further to register the main keyword as domain as in key-worddomain.net. He place the main keyword in the header and added a few plugins and then added a few content with the authors resource box intact and that was all he did and he has been earning 0.44euro-1 euro/ day with free traffic from Google.

I am confused here because I thought we cant get make money with free content and also get traffic from Google at the same time without doing any other work. could some help me decipher how this is possible...

I can only say that this whole thing more like an experiment but would it have a negative effect in the long run?

    I'm not sure to be honest. You should be fine though, since it doesn't look like you're doing anything wrong. I'd wait for more answers though, just to be safe.

    What do you mean by free content? Are you creating the content then giving it away for free, or are you scraping content from someone elses site?

    If it's a low competition keyword, the less seo it will take to rank, also new pages with EMD names tend to rank good at first then they will bounce around the SERPs for a while until they settle down. When you start building backlinks on that new EMD, it will bounce for a while, mught get a better SERP position, might get worse (you never know).
