All my rankings have disappeared

To my horror all keywords of my site that ranked on page 1 or 2 on google have now completely disappeared. (there were about 15 low search volume keywords) I can't even find them on page 7 or 10.

This is true for old keywords for which I have been stable on page 1 for 6 months and for newer ones.

I have heard about the google dance - but does that include that ALL keywords COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR?

I have not done anything dodgy - did not add links very quickly - just added a lot of new pages recently.

I resubmitted the sitemap every time I had a new page - could that cause problems?

Thanks a lot guys - every input is appreciated.

hmmm... this is either the google dance or related to the new algorithm changes

In both of those cases all of your keywords would take a hit. If you haven't added a bunch of backlinks then I'm inclined to believe that it's related to the new algorithm changes. A couple of my sites have taken a similar hit.

I'm really not sure of what the remedy is yet myself. 'unique content' is becoming a bigger deal. If you have a bunch of duplicate content on your site, then that could very well be the reason.

Kind of ironic, because the duplicate content penalty was a myth for so many years. People falsely believed that having syndicated content on your site would cause a penalty. Now it seems the opposite is occurring. Peeps have syndicated content on their site, and google is slapping them for it.

The recent updates had more to do with the quality of content and less to do with backlinking. If it is panda related, then something to do with your content has more than likely caused the google slap.

I feel ya dude. Hopefully it's only a temporary issue.

Sorry to hear about this. This could have happened for a number of reasons. I actually just made a blog post about this yesterday, which you may want to check out for a much more detailed explanation.

Has Your Site Disappeared From Google Results?

Hang in there, you'll get past this.

Seems like there are many site owners facing the problem recently. I believe it could be due to the new algorithm rollout and G is 're-analyzing' each sites in more details.

    Let's pray hard.

On a separate note, did anyone lose your backlinks when you logged into your webmaster tools?

      I have no duplicate content.

I have some pages - what you called 'over-seo-ed' - namely same keyword in text, title and url. These were actually the only ones that ranked well.
If I wouldn't have done it these pages would not have ranked at all. So, I can not see the point of not trying to get some SEO done. I would have zero visitors.

But ALL my pages were hit - even those with very 'bad' SEO - nothing has retained its ranking.

      God, it's upsetting

I think let's not panick for now. I am also experiencing the same problem as you do now.

Have you checked your webmaster tools? Do you see anything abnormal such as all your backlinks suddenly disappeared?

I also think it due to Google's new algorithm, duplicate content. On the new pages are you target same keywords or other?
Check the Google webmaster it also give you clue.

Sorry, I do panic - is there any reason I should not? Please tell me as it would make me feel a bit better.
I checked google analytics webmaster tools:
        all links are intact
xml sitemap is in order - no warnings or errors

I read somewhere that the 'google dance' can happen sometimes out of the blue and your site gets reassessed and returns back to normal after two days.
        Is that a possibility?

I have no duplicate keywords or content.

if this is all to do with this google panda thing - would there not be dozens or hundreds of people here who were experiencing the same thing as me.

so, my feeling is it's something 'personal'. But what? I am not in the least spammy - masses of unique quality content on my site.

Does anybody know if it could be the google dance? Can it happen in this way?

Hi guys, thanks for the input. So, what do I do - wait and pray?

              What are w3c validator issues?
I made my own site on wordpress but are practically illiterate in computer things - so please make your answer easy to understand.

Check your site content if it's duplicate then change it & send the reconsideration request to google through webmaster tool or if you are doing any black hat seo tactics then stop it. You'll get back soon...

That happened to me about 3 weeks ago. My site went back on first page after like 3 days. I went to google webmasters blog and ask why and put my link there. I got google to re-crawled my pages and put them back on.

Another thing I did at the suggestion of a google employee was fixing all the w3c validator issues I had on my site and i was set.

This just happened to one of my sites! baffling. this is the first time it's happened to any of my sites. I write 100% ORIGINAL content (although my content is sometimes plagiarized by others) , and do not overlink.

      Weird.

ALL keywords have fallen off, and I've lost all traffic. However, my site is still in google if I search for the site:domain.com

what's the webmaster blog that you posted your question at fytmc411?
