Google 'Cha Cha' Dance?

My blog / site has been on first page number 7 for roughly two months now.

Here's the weird part, every time I update on a post the site would go up to number 2... And after 24 - 60 hours. It will drop back to number 7...

Is this a Google dance? Or a persistent competitor?

have you tried searching on different pcs? maybe its because of personalized searches?

Then I believe I'll be sticking permanently at the top spot...

  From what it sounds like, you're experiencing what is known as "Query Deserves Freshness", or QDF for short. QDF is a part of Google's algorithm that gives a temporary little boost to newer content. Once the QDF wears off, your site will revert back to its original position. check google webmaster tools, there you can see times you appeared higher than normal in the search results
