hi wf,

i submitted my first site to google 3 days ago, how will i know when its been indexed? and how long does it usualy take to index?

when i "mysite.com" in google i get 3 pages of it but not the homepage?

sorry if this is a stupid question

    About the homepage situation, when I google "site:www.domainname.com" and "site:domainname.com" I get two different results for one of my sites. One has my home page as a result one doesn't. Maybe you should try that.

    No question is stupid and there are various sites to index and ping your URL of your site to like pingler.com and pingfarm.com and this helps to index your site fast. But it also depends on how good your content is. Articles with rich keywords are more likely to be indexed. For example google znz one and see I have one of the top 3 positions for this keyword because of my keyword density.

    There's a feature in google called Google Alerts which should email you when your indexed.. What I do though is just keep checking the keyword and going through the firt 10 pages.

    The time varies, sometimes it takes a week, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few days.
    Just gotta do your pinging, Social Bookmarking, RSS Submission if you can.

    But start out by just pinging your site.
    Try; Pingler.com
    Pingomatic.com
    Pingoat.com
    Pingfarm.com
    pingdevice.com

      Thanks guys! I pinger from all the sites had a look through my keyword on google and I'm #4 on page 3 and I still have hundreds of pages of content to do

        You can try BulkPing.com. I always use that.

        It has feature where you can ping more then one URL plus it also has rss feed submission.

        Of course it free service.

    We can't say when google spider/ crawler will come to our web page, for quick action w can go for post in pingler and pingfarm.
    that means your home page not cache yet rather than those two pages

    use cache, link, site commands to know better if your site is indexed in google or not..? as soon as these sites start showing some results it means you have indexed pages
