Why am I not appearing in Google?

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on my second sniper site ever, so I am very new to how all this search engine stuff works.

I've started creating a site optimized for "Cure to Tinnitus".

My site, "Curetotinnitus.org" shows up as #1 on page 1 if you type in "cure to tinnitus" in quotes.

If you type in: curetotinnitus as one word, and confirm to google that this is what you really want (don't take their suggestion of "cure tinnitus") then I show up as #3 on page 1

Now, the one that I am really after, if someone just types in: cure to tinnitus with no quotes, my site does not appear anywhere in any of the 69 pages that google offers.

Did I get "Sand boxed" or something?

I haven't done any backlinking or anything yet, just adding posts.

It's been two weeks since I created my first post, and I'm assuming I am indexed ok since my pages show up the searches I mentioned above.

Can anyone offer any explainations or suggestions to get me to appear in the natural listings? I'm really confused why google is acting like this and if I am doing something wrong, I want to learn early so I don't keep making mistakes.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

- Pete

I don't think you have been sandboxed or anything, you actually got a good start on Goog if you are able to be picked up so well on those exact results. Either that or your snipe KW set is very thin I would think.

Get ready to backlink it up for the new few months or so and I'd think you'd have a solid placement on Goog.

A way to see if your posts got indexed is cache:URLGOESHERE, if they did then it's time for more content and linking.

It sounds like your site needs some backlinks with your keyword as the anchor text (but not 100% of them - this could look unnatural, vary it up a bit).

Try to build good quality backlinks (from article directores, for example) slowly but consistently for your keyword and it should rise up the rankings.

I expect the reason that it is appearing high up for the key term in quotes but not without is that your site is new and there are many more established ones with more backlinks that at the moment Google thinks are more relevant rather than your site being in the sandbox.

    My friend,
Do you want to start to appear, do these things :
    1. create a webmaster account at search engines like google, yahoo and msn.
    2. provide sitemaps for them.
    3. Create your website using inside and out side SEO.
    4. Take care of anchor texts.
    5. Spread your website in directories and social networks.
    6. The last is the best : take care of your visitors.

    Regards

I think you should keep on posting quality content and run a good SEO strategy to earn backlinks from Google and submit your sitemap to google for fat indexing of your web pages.

    Thanks for your replys, everyone.

So it seems that you are all saying that my site as it stands really does not deserve to rank at all for my primary search term?

I should have thought I'd be at least somewhere in the first 30 results. I mean the stuff that *is* showing in the top 30 results don't have my exact keyword, "Cure TO tinnitus" at all.... (they are all "cure FOR tinnitus")

Let me ask this, when someone does a search on the term:
    cure to tinnitus

Does google consider the "to" to be a part of the search phrase or does it remove the little workds, like:
in, the, by, to, for, etc.

Because, if I am REALLY competing against websites that are "Cure tinnitus" sites, then I understand why I'm no where on the list (although, honestly, I should think I would be SOMEWHERE down in the 60's anyway!), and quite frankly I don't have a shot without way more work than I am willing to put in.

If that is the case, I may actually have picked a keyword with WAY too much competition.

I'm very excited about getting a website that generates income, but it feels a little like I am treading through a land mine. "Pow! There's another website that blew up on me!"

    Thanks everyone!

Its time to hit more backlinks to your site by using Unique content.

  • If you type your domain (with the www part as well) into google, you site shows up. This means it is still indexed by google and hasn't been sandboxed or anything strange like that.

If your site is only 2 weeks old, I wouldn't worry about it not ranking just yet. This can take some time. Start getting some nice high PR backlinks pointing to it.

Google needs to see some backlinks with your keyword in the anchor text. This is how it knows what your site is about and what to rank it for. Just getting a couple of this juicky high PR links with the keywords in them will sort you out nicely.
