Hi there. Can somebody help me evaluate the following keywords - i am looking for a primary keyword for my client and this is kinda challenging than others that i have done. And i am still learning.. :-)

I am choosing from the ones i have highlighted - competition is easy to medium difficulty, so they are all okay.

I normally choose the highest searches (since competition is okay), but why is it the clicks per day is so low (or zero with the first one?).

What do you suggest that i choose as primary... i am looking at "portrait paintings", since it is in the middle.

How do you analyze this result? Thank you so much in advance.

Hmmm I definitely would NOT trust the Competition rate that Google posts. I've consistently found that it differs greatly from what it really is. SeoMOZ has a Keyword Difficulty checker (if you are a member). I am, so I tried your keyword set "portrait paintings" - it says that it is 67% and Highly Competitive!!

The global monthly searches were the same as Google's (9,900) so this appears to be accurate...but compared to Google's competition of maybe 30% or so, 67% is definitely a competitive term.

I would go with the 'buy oil paintings' phrase, not based on volume or competition but because this is an action phrase and more likely to convert. That's if your client is selling oil paintings of course.

I really do agree with this. competition and volume is not the only focus in keywords.

I second Jason and would go for it as the phrase has an intent which is great to start off with, well targeted.

The click estimation looks decent too so it may be def be worth the time invested.

Thanks for your replies. I now understand even more - volume and competition is not only the factor of a good keyword, but the actual clicks which will more likely to convert. :-)

Actually conversion is important than visitors.Go for low competition also add high competition side by side.Mostly low competition has better conversion than high competition keywords.
