when setting up an account in google places for a client, i have heard that its not a good idea to use your own isp address over and over again.

Should i use a proxy?
should i mask the isp?
or should i use a remote progam like gotoassist.com to use my clients own computer from their isp?

    If you can claim the location for them, then it shouldn't be an issue. Also, I don't think you'd get banned for making multiple changes from a single IP. You'd probably have an issue if you made several unauthorized changes. From my understanding, changes are reviewed to some degree (by humans or robots, I dunno) before being posted. If you start linking to irrelevant sites, you might have an issue.

    If the business is local to you then it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you are in Chicago and they are in Dublin then you should use something like hide my ass and use an IP address in Ireland.

      My clients are all over the USA and my office is in Los Angeles. Do you think it would be OK if I used hide my ass with IP addresses in the USA? In other words, do you think Google would not like it if I used an IP address in Chicago to set up a Local Business Listing for a client in Houston?

    You can try to use Proxies or better... subscribe for a VPN service and use it =) So far VPN works well for me.
