It takes time, if you just started your SEO work you won't see results for a few weeks to a few months depending on your competition. It is common for you backlinks to rank higher if they are on authority domains

I was expecting that answer, but also hoping there was something we were missing. not appearing on the first 50 pages is disappointing. there are many sites that appear in the search which at face value having nothing to do with the

i am concerned we might have done something negative which we are being penalized for.

can we assume that if and when we start to appear. it will be on page 50!! or is there possibility we could suddenly jump to say page 20 ?

With the location in the keyword search it should be pretty easy to get ranked on Google for something like "family law advice southampton"

WHat kind of article writing and link building are you doing?

Where are you posting the articles?

Hi larks01,

It would be much, much easier for us to help you out if you post up the address of the site in question. It's pretty hard to see what's wrong without actually seeing the site. Chances are, you haven't done anything wrong - you just haven't done enough to make Google notice you yet.

I wish it was easy to rank well for "family law advice in southampton" - i wish we could get int he top 500 results!

we have been link building for a couple of months, and have only just started article writing yesterday, i will be submitting to all the populat article sites.

I fully do not expect to be high in the rankings at a early stage, but its just bugging me that we are NO where in google.

any help it really appreciated.

YOu can start by changing titles on your pages. Right now it says "HOME"

Your other pages too. Click on "Our People" and your Page title is:

"Our People ! Catherine Sousa Solicitors"

This has to change first.

You should do keyword links that match the page titles on all of your website pages.

I would work on the page descriptions too.

  Each page of your site should target certain keyword(s) by proper use of your title tags, descriptions, etc.
  
  There is a ton of information in this forum. I would suggest if your budget allows it is to become a member of the War Room. I think its like $27 for like a lifetime membership. You will have all sorts of software and e-material to download for free to help you.

Google has change the way they are ranking sites it may take time so it is a must to do it as natural as possible so you do not get sandboxed.

all the advice is great guys. But i guess the question i need answering is -

is it strange we are not in google for any search terms? I will make the amendments that have been made. But i hope you agree after looking at the site, we have not got things so wrong that we deserve not to appear at all?

are we sandboxed?

Don't just link to home page with your articles. Setup links to the other pages of your site too such as "Other People" link.

You need to change the titles on every page of your website.

Then use this formula:

1. "Each page of your site should target certain keyword(s) by proper use of your title tags, descriptions, etc." (from Extreme Social Media post)

2. Match the titles of each page with keyword (anchor text)links.

3. Submit articles with the links.
